Tortas de Vilana
Ingredients

• 1 kg of nice or black potatoes (or sweet potatoes)
• 6 eggs
• 1 grated lemon
• ½ kg sugar
• 200 gr raw lard
• 200 gr seedless raisins
• 250 gr flour
• 1 envelope royal backing powder 1 *
• A handful almonds, peeled crushed and browned as decoration

Preparation.

S tew the potatos, mash a little and them get cold. Next add the eggs, the lemon scrapes, the sugar, the lard, the raisins, the flour and the backing powder. Knead, butter the mould. Put into the oven at 170 ºC ( 338 ºF ) for 75 minutes. Don't forget to put the crushed almonds before.

Note.


Some do not use the royal backing powder but add lemon scrapes, cinnamon and fine salt. Also suggested, if no flour available, to add grated bread.

Monje Moscatel ( Bodegas Monje ).
Bonito amarillo paja. Potente y elegante nariz de moscatel con tonos cítricos, nada de típicas pasas, muy fresco. Cuando lo metemos en boca el varietal nos inunda, de acidez moderada y con un dulzor nada empalagoso. En definitiva es un moscatel de corte moderno.
